Research and development
Quali Tech® management recognizes the essentiality
of maintaining a highly qualified and well-funded research and development
department. Research is conducted nationally and internationally
at public and private research facilities. Continuous improvement
requires constant evaluation and re-evaluation of our products and
processes. Never satisfied with the status quo, Quali Tech®
research seeks to answer chemical, metabolic and physical questions
to better position our products to achieve our mission of "Enhancing
Animal Performance Through Nutrition". As unique chemical entities,
the polysaccharide complexed trace minerals offer research opportunities
not addressed by competitive products or  producers.
Cooperative efforts with customers and the formation of strategic
alliances enable a relatively small company to multiply its research
efforts to better meet the needs of a very competitive industry.
Research with dairy, beef, swine and poultry seeks
to further Quali Tech®'s overall presence in the food animal
industry. Constantly changing genetics requires constant updating
of previous research to meet the needs of animals whose productive
potential is not being met. Work with companion animals, exotic
and minor species is being undertaken to identify those areas most
likely to benefit from the use of SQM® products. Some of this
work is expected to field additional benefits in the area of human
nutrition. As research identifies new applications, product development
must keep pace with the requirements.
Combining the input from internal research, customers'
suggestions and university data, Quali Tech®'s product
development group is able to provide the necessary products for
research proven applications. Additional effort is devoted to discovering
new applications and benefits for our existing products as well
as process improvements. New raw materials and unique ingredients
are continually being evaluated as part of product discovery.
The combined research and development areas are a
dynamic part of an evolving star in mineral nutrition, QUALI TECH®.
