Zinc (Zn)

Zinc deficiency results in loss of appetite and an associated lack of performance in virtually all species. An accompanying decrease in immune system function can be critical during normal stress conditions. During periods of stress, providing adequate dietary zinc may be critical. Infection also can have a detrimental effect on zinc status in stressed animals. Addition of zinc to diets has been shown to positively influence immunity in growing and finishing animals.
