SQM is a revolutionary form of "protected" organic trace mineral using
patented polysaccharide complexing. SQM bonds the trace minerals to a polysaccharide escort. This polysaccharide
protects these nutrients, both physically and chemically, as it escorts them to the small intestine where they
can be absorbed. SQM's protective process allows higher levels of trace minerals to avoid degradation in the
rumen and is, therefore, more available in higher concentrations for direct absorption. SQM economically and
effectively delivers critical trace minerals to the absorption sites without interference, providing maximum
trace mineral activity where needed.
Benefits:
- 100% inclusion
- High concentration/potency results in lower shipping costs and less used warehouse space
- Higher bioavailability and absorption
- Potential for reduced elemental feeding levels while maintaining optimum production
- Promotes environmental responsibility
- No interference from antagonistic nutrients/compounds such as sulfates, iron, molybdenum, etc.
- Less degradation of vitamins in feeds and premixes
Polysaccharide Complexes
- Copper - Copper has been designated as a primary influencer
of repoduction, immune function and red blood cell activity.
- Iron - Research shows that feeding supplemental organic iron
is most effective if fed to your nursing animals.
- Magnesium - Magnesium has an important role in neuromuscular
activity, is required in cell respiration, a key component of bone and is primary in preventing tetany in cattle.
- Manganese - Manganese has a significant effect on reproductive
performance, is involved in multiple enzyme systems, participates in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism
and aids in immune response in combination with other key nutrients.
- Zinc - Addition of zinc to diets has been shown to positively
influence immunity in growing and finishing animals.
